Odin

Odin is a space opera. The story presents an idea that humanity is actually descended from people who came from a parallel universe, from a planet called Odin. There's no Norse mythology here other than the name Odin so be advised.

To begin with, I truly WANT to like this movie. I wish I could like it. It's concept is so interesting and it's world and technology are also unusual in an anime setting. The characters are dull and undeveloped. The action scenes are good, but when they come you are so bored out of your skull that even the awesome heavy metal soundtrack can not shake you into giving half of a damn. The animation is good for an 80 film, and the previously-mentioned soundtrack is also solid, but there are only like three songs. The film is also very long. It's not long like Star Trek: the Motion Picture, where you have vast stretches of nothing happening, it's nearly two hours long, and with so much philosophy being discussed, yes, you read that correctly, it feels even longer. In short, this movie is a big mass of wasted potential. I really want to like it, I've seen it three times. I don't like it. No sir, I don't like it at all.
